Psychedelic in Action : The Silent Melody

I myself never heard about this 'psychedelic' until i red about it through Wikipedia :p

Time by time more and more awesome bands come to our local scene and now we can notice about the bands those bring the unique style and genre.

And now - lets give our great welcome to them. The Silent Melody!

Established in February 2008, this all Kota Bharu guys come with their hope to show new style of music in Malaysia. Recognizing themselves as a psychedelic, rock, indie, and electro band, The Silent Melody is influenced by recognized band such as Radiohead and Chemical Brothers.

The Band Members
The Silent Melody started their journey with the early members : Napih (vox), Syed (Lead), MJ (2nd guitar), Ayub (Bass) and Mawe (Drums).

People come and go - and as well the members of The Silent Melody.

Now, with the current members : MJ (vox), Apik (bass), Syed (2nd guitar), Tady (lead), Bere (keys) and Mat Yoe (drums), The Silent Melody is ready to go on and rockin' the local scene with their unique melody and verses.

When one of the TSM members, MJ had been asked why they choose to be under the name of 'The Silent Melody', he'd laughed and said that it's a nice and unique name for them - as the name signifies the silent element that they bring in their melody.

Until this sec, The Silent Melody had performed in some gigs including SoundPark Jamm and Saturday Riot. And that's the way how the got their own fans and going through their journey in bringing something new to the music world.

KAMI The Gig 2008

It was a memorable event after all for the gig lovers, especially for those who adore KAMI.

The gig (or written there as KAMI The Concert) featured 24 local bands - all of them were so amazing and got a big applause from the audiences.

I think most of us know what is KAMI (stands for Kerana Aku Masih Ingat) is all about - an amazing story of 5 buddies going through their challenging life. Although the movie's ending was a sad ending, the movie was a good Malaysian movie for me, as it's the final part of the KAMI tv series and had gave a great impact to the audiences.

Well, back to KAMI the Gig.

The gig was supported by Hotlink and the big crowd filling the car park of National Stadium of Bukit Jalil.

Amazing. An amazing crowd. And I agree with Sarah (the host that night) when she said that it's the biggest crowd for KAMI tour.

All bands performed well but till the end of the gig, OAG nearly couldn't make their performance because it's already 12.00 am. The crowd shouted 'OAG.. OAG' and fortunately, they had been given chance to perform a song - 60's TV.

Maybe some of the audiences didn't notice that Emmet's (Butterfingers) head was bleeding. maybe because of his guitar.

Well, whatever.

The crowd enjoyed themselves - except some people who fell on the ground. haha.

And as for us, we had made our tshirts wet in the dark, enjoying ourselves with the other local music supporters, that gives colour to our independent music scene.

One of most talented and respected band and have many followers is The Times.Their music have bring the changes to our music industries especially in indie scene.Their retro style with MALAYA touch it brings fresh music to local industries.The retro image and their music are their strenght.Their music is easy to listen and feel happy when listen to it.They first try with SODA POP ROK & ROLL get a good review from fans.Kasanova,nostalgia curang rok & roll and persona algebra are the most i listen to because the melody and the lyrics are cool.Nada Melankolik Malaya have made The Times more recognized as band that have brings retro style in their music.The latest album is Modern Minimalis Glamour.Singapura Kuala Lumpur have been in amp.chart channel v asia about 11 weeks.It is proof that their songs can play in overseas.Hope they success with their music.

There would be 24 bands from all over the country come to perform at one place....18 october is the day that will be happening at BUKIT JALIL...there would be a few hundred people and most of the tenagers and maybe the numbers can goes up to thousand will come to that place
